New Release
Now booking for the 2024-2025 school year!
As an educator and person of color, I have been inspired to create culturally relevant literature for children of color, and to help break the stereotypes that many of our youth face today.
“SOAR!” and “Not Yet, Deezy!” are both great books for the classroom. If you will be using these materials in the classroom, please let me know. I am currently scheduling Zoom meetings so that I can participate in the discussion with your students.

ABOUT ME
DeAnna Lynn was born in Chicago, IL and raised in her hometown of Rockford, IL. After attending Rock Valley College and Illinois State University, she began her career of being an Early Childhood educator. Thus, she has had the opportunity to draw from her knowledge of social-emotional development to write culturally relevant literature for children of color. DeAnna made her debut as an author in the summer of 2020 with the children’s book “Not Yet, Deezy!” and is also the author of “SOAR!” As a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), she looks to influence more children and families through both culturally responsive teaching and children’s literature.

SOAR!
SOAR! is about a 7-year-old boy who lives in inner city Chicago and comes from humble beginnings. He experiences both positive and negative influences in his environment and is often judged by the color of his skin. Though the negative influences in his life are strong, he comes to appreciate how special he truly is, and the royalty and power in his bloodline. This realization helps him to overcome the circumstances in his life, and ultimately allows him to influence other BIPOC boys and men. If your child is learning to rise above adversity, then this is the perfect book for you. Also available in French!
